Re: Martin Bray, Swansea, UK
Whilst this picture appears to be showing a lot of interest in the forum, you might be interested to know how my work with Gemma, my first model started, whilst I was with Neath Camera Club.
A good friend of mine at the camera club was her webmaster and photographer, however jeoulosy set in and someone reported the matter to his wife, who was not so enthusiatic about this type of work. My friend quit her work on the basis that it was jeopardising his marriage and I approached Gemma one day and asked if I could be her photographer, to which she asked me, "what do you know about glamour photography, when you're experience is with taking pictures of choo choos". My next question was can I be your webmaster, to which she asked, "what do you know about glamour websites, when you run a Frontpage2 choo choo website? How embarrassing, but 2500 pictures later....

Nice shot Martin, pity about the ornate wooden post top that is partly obscured by her face, to me it's as if her thumb is highlighting the awkwardness of it's presence - but that's just my personal fussy view, otherwise I think it's nicely composed. I really must get off my backside and do some model photography this year!
Dave,
Thanks for your valued comments. I must admit my eyes are being dragged into the ornate wooden post top, so it'll have to go. Gemma's very good with her hands and likes to interestingly compose them. I also notice that the newer version of this image hasn't been uploaded without the wall cracks.

Light engines from Margam Knuckle Yard to Robeston to work a retimed 6A11 Robeston to Theale tanks.
I was trying to create a sunset scene at midday but couldn't position myself with the sun and the locos to obtain the effect, but still, I like what I achieved.

Margam Knuckle Yard can be relied upon to produce lovely goldy low sunlight images at the signals in the west end of the yard.

I'm not so sure about the sun being this far round, so a bit more loco than normal and an 'S' adjustment in curves to bring out the low almost side light.

I went up the top of that volcano a few years ago - El Teide isn't it? Brilliant view of it when you fly in and out of the island. Great pictures - some really nice stuff - looks hot too!
Thanks Ian. First week was about 26C but dropped to 23C for the second week.

Tenerife, Los Cristianos - Naviera Armas Ferry (By Night)
Lots of work was needed to go into this image, as there was conflicting colour casts from the ferrys internal lighting and the harbour lighting. Removing one colour cast with temperature correction in RAW made the other worse. The solution was to produce two images one with the ferrys internal lighting colour corrected and the other with the harbour lighting. Place one image on top of the other and remove the ships lighting on one layer to reveal the corrected colour cast on the bottom layer.

Nice sky Martin!
Like Chloe's spider web/spider lace veil.
Thanks Dave. The 'nice lighting' is a prompt for 37425 as I've painted the image with light and textured it with canvas. Ran out of time to finish the image off with a rainbow.

I asked the driver if he could park the train so that the station sign was between the locos, but it wasn't possible. So, the sign had to come to the driver.

Won't forget this picture in a hurry. Prepared for the shot at 2230, no driver, A xam and coolant change. Loco eventually posed at 0330. Note the bodyside damage incurred earlier on during the day.
