Problems in Tidal Sidings Next Week?!
08782 has been stopped for a couple of weeks with possible generator problems.
08466 and 08951 are both stopped at Toytown for the past six months.
08752 and 09017 (double manned) are the current Tidal pilots.
08752 is due a C xam next week at Canton Depot which has been deferred since before christmas, but it is also due a 10 year air receiver exam. It also has a squeaky side rod that has been straightened out after followed a side swipe but maybe twisted.
So what will deputise for 08752 next week?

60026 is a runner at Margam but the two Tidal shunters cover Celsa and Rod Mill, where they wouldn't be able to use a Class 60.
Re: Problems in Tidal Sidings Next Week?!
Rumours have it that a new remote control loco is coming to Tidal next week to replace 08782 and more importantly work with 09017 whilst 08752 has its C xam. It is aslo noteworthy that 08752 is showing 'F' status on TOPS.
It'll be interesting to see where the new loco comes from and with the problems Tidal has been suffering during the past six months, I'm very surprised that Westbury, Eastleigh and Mossend have received new loco's before Tidal.

Re: Problems in Tidal Sidings Next Week?!
Someone's doing some thinking, as minds are changing.
Evidentally the low loader is bringing down 08802 from Toton to replace 08782 at Tidal, but is taking back 08567 to exchange for 08428 at Rugby. Presumably it will return with 08782?
That will enable the C xam to be undertaken at Canton Depot on 08752.
Two new gronks.

Err just spent the last hour cleaning the lens. No 60's in wales but it's all about gronks this year.
I've heard of big plans for namings and surely the first one must be Catman

No I definately won't see it, I can assure you that. Please don't wind me up. (Non smileys not working, have you disabled them?)
I'm all hyped up for new gronk action and a naming. Photoshop is in overdrive.

The B13 saga makes the EWS marketing strategy regarding longer and heavier trains look stupid. Maybe no one's told the Marketing Department that B13 is running with one tank less and one loco more.
Re: Problems in Tidal Sidings Next Week?!
just nonesense when they have perfectly good locos to haul a proper train for the customer

The 60's are shot with the exception of maybe 74 and marginally 61, but EWS do have some absolutely top fitters that could do a general overhaul on a 60, just needs the like of Heller and Mc Donald to rest in greener pastures.
Re: Problems in Tidal Sidings Next Week?!
Still no sign of 08802, believe there are problems at Toton?!

That's well ruined my photo shoot tomorrow.
I hear there is a new manager at Toytown, believed to have come from Tonka.
Maybe it has something to do with an internal email that circulated the world about a backlog of work several months ago.
Re: Problems in Tidal Sidings Next Week?!
No 802 tomoz, so me and the Pembrey Veg, we're going to video beating up Catman and put it up on U-tube, unless he gets 782 running.
Re: Problems in Tidal Sidings Next Week?!
08802 arrived but the remote control is faulty. Won't move one way and the other way the brakes apply after a short distance.
Re: Problems in Tidal Sidings Next Week?!
Some reservation is being shown as to whether Canton Depot has the facilities now to drop the air receivers on 08752 as in the good old days they had a hydraulic table with jig in the pit to support it as it was dropped. Looks like a Toytown job.

Two new gronks.
08428 arrived at Newport Docks yesterday afternoon, was inspected this morning and is seviceable. I'm still trying to find out why it was necessary to do the swap with 08567 as both are TPWS fitted and buck eye coupled.
No further developments with 08752 or 08802.
782 on the road
782 is currently on the M5 unsure whether the final destination is bescot or toytown

Toytown. Possible main generator failure. If Margam Depot was still open, it would have been done there.
