Fairwater Yard closure?
It has been posted on SWRgen that the yard will be closing at the end of the year and i was wondering if anyone has heard anything about where or if FL will set up a new yard, the rumours i have heard is they could open up Exeter Riverside or Reading West yard which would make more sense to me going on all the work that will be starting in the Reading area soon,or is it all just idle chit chat .
Cheers

Re: Fairwater Yard closure?
Will be based at Exeter Riverside vice Fairwater I have heard
Reading West Yard will not be an option as the plan is to build on that land as part of the Reading revamp (if it goes ahead of course!) but they should have been a new sidings at Moreton Cutting finished by the end of this year but that seems to have fallen through at the mo and no hope of that for a few years now......

Thanks for the update Chalky, that is good news for me the fact that they might be keeping it in the Southwest and that bit closer to Plymouth.

Think Freightliner take over in about a month`s time, STP paths are going in the system early so difficult to spot runners and riders now
