Christmas Meet?

Just thought id run the idea past everyone of a Christmas Meet for Headsup Members? Depending on how many people are interested in the idea, the date would be something like Saturday 5th December at Water Orton, Nuneaton or Tamworth. Other suggestions around the Midlands area are welcome also!

Anyone for dressing as Santa?

Righto, the more people we can get the better. Nice to meet up with the guys in person!

Carstairs might be a little out of my range and might be for other people? Stafford could be another option?

True, i said a Saturday as i know quite a few members have mid week jobs such as myself or go to College or Uni and wouldnt be able to make it. If everyone who wishes to go can make it to Barnetby then id go for Barnetby, only reason i said Water Orton etc was because its in the middle of the country and an equal distance for people to get too.

I think its best as you say to set up a thread with several places in mind for different days and see who can make where. I certainly won't spend anytime on a station taking pictures after having a day at Crewe a couple of weeks ago, my first in many years.

The million dollar question is will you and Wetbag make yourself available for any location on any day?

Participation ...The idea of a meet is really to meet up with the guys who are members to chat and have a laugh, you go to somewhere that only a handful of people can get too and your attendance is low making the meet pointless.

Thing is for People like myself Matthew is Saturday is a Normal Working Day Nowadays so for me to take unpaid leave its well over £100 lost before i even start so whatever got planned would have to be a good day for me to warrant a day off ...

Water Orton is quite centrally positioned, especially for the free xmas gut stretcher at Bigmans restaurant.

Lol , we have one in Coleshill Martin , just £3.59 for the Carvery or December is £5 for a Carvery and an Xmas Pudding

Also for the Welsh Veg , Pontypridd , Cardiff and Tonypandy

You can easily have a good day on a Saturday with a number of the Headsup lads?

first of all a great idea for a heads up meet - well done for the suggestion

the point Im making and I think to a degree so is the lord bigman is that this is a "freight" and "unusual workings" forum and therefore saturday is unlikely to deliver the same qauntum as a weekday especially with reduced daylight hours

however well done for starting the thread and making suggestions to the forum it what its all about

Matt , Keep the thread going as i'm sure some of the Guys will meet up at Crewe , Stafford or Warrington on a Saturday , i'm sure there is few who don't mind the Saturday Station side of the Hobby , go for it , if you require any posts made Sticky or Announcements give me a PM
