Although Keith Hellar is officially leaving DBS in the upcoming future it would appear that his parting shot will be ordering the retirement of ALL class 60's after sandite... I have noticed about half the tugs still in service have been assigned N-ONE again so it seems that time is upon us again....

Rumours are pairs of sheds will replace solid tug workings even though trials have proved them useless.....

Lets hope someone see's sense!!!

Get them while you can!!!

I heard a month or so ago that Hellar was retiring but I also heard that Mc Donald (Industrial MD) is going to Poland in the next few months. Very Happy

Incidently Mc Donald was handed a letter which quite pointedly suggested that he was looking after his own sectors interests, not EWS's, in closing Margam Depot. My view has always been that maintenance is a service to the business sectors and should not be within them.

With both these guys out of the way, the new chief executive may open mindedly revisit the Class 60 strategy.
