A local photographer was prevented from taking pictures from a public highway of a Jet Skier on Glyn Neath Lakes after the landowner called the police, who sided with the landowner.

City and County of Swansea have issued an Events Photographic Policy.

We had this on FMi a couple of weeks back. The complaint was because there were children swimming , playing , and changing in the same area if I remember rightly. Now whilst this isn't necessarily justification in my opinion , a very small part of me can see where the old bill were coming from. However , I do think it is yet another example of the constant over reaction to anyone with a camera that seems to prevail at the moment. The head of police has yet again had to remind his officers this week that section 44 is not to be used to hassle the public , making particular reference to rail enthusiasts , however I expect this bollocks will continue and I shall therefore continue to keep photographing without a care in the world.
cheers

Neath Camera Club members have experienced several problems in this area of late. The Landowner also has a lake with Heron's on it and he will quite aggressively stop pictures being taken of them. I understand a couple of weeks ago that a black couple tried to prevent a member from photographing a canoe on the Resolven Canal until the photographer threatened to throw the pair of them into the canal. I also note from an Arriva Billboard on Pyle station that their policy is not to allow loitering on their stations, so this may be another excuse to stop photographers taking pictures.
