If successfull all the fleet will have its fuel injuction pumps isolated to save fuel.
Freightliner are already trying this out by getting the class 70's towed around the country,so there will be no wear on their power units.
Margam depot may reopen,DBS are building a wind farm to power the depot.Along with inflatable buildings for field maintenance.
Things are looking up for rail freight in the UK.
Re: Tidal Update

More EWS spin.
Seems to me that there's two fitters and three managers looking after each gronk?
I'll tell you what I'd like to see, a 'Certificate of Conformity' inclusive of checklist for each gronk sent to Tidal, signed off by a competent person.
Re: Tidal Update
Where would you get a competant person from ?

Re: Tidal Update
I met up with Tim Gruar the new Tidal Manager today, for the first time and we had a good chat about the remotes and Tim's days as a Freight Officer in Port Talbot during the early 90's. A really nice guy from the old school.
08605 - Standby loco working in manual only due to a remote control fault. (I believe EWS are having some teething problems with the new Hima-Sella software)
08752 Lenny - Tidal Pilot
08630 Bob Brown - Celsa Pilot

Re: Tidal Update
Glad you had a good few hours with Tim.
I have been load bank tested today and now waiting a loaded trial run to see if I function correctly.Don't want to be put into store at Toytown

I think Tim is quite enthusiast friendly so long as no one takes the pxxx. He said he hasn't received any complaints about my website, but he hasn't seen it either. It would be very interesting to see how he would react if Concrete Flob introduced himself and was asked to explain how his staff have fxxxxx up every shunter that arrives at Tidal. Once I have given Tim his framed picture of all his gronks I shall ask him if he could arrange for me to ride in on the Celsa gronk and photograph its moves around Celsa. I notice he's very proud to be a Rhondda boy. Arn't you one?
I understand that your trial loaded run will be with John Exxxxxxxx. May the strongest survive.

Re: Tidal Update
I here that there has been another remote sent to Tidal, that will test it out on the proving ground for gronks.
I hear that a chap called Block Head bob been having a go at Tidal staff and someone called Mr Bumsen.
In the old days Gronks had a vacuum brake as well as air brake. The vacuum chamber was set to 21 inches HG when in the release position. It looks like block head bob has the same between his ears.

I wonder if Block Head Bob is a member of this forum.
Yes, 706 has arrived at Tidal and I believe it was the second new remote to be released, which ended up at Westbury for a very brief visit before returning back to Toton. Did you get called out to it at Westbury or was it the Avonmouth fitter that went to it? Catman suggested that a couple of Toton remote fitters are going to spend a couple of weeks at Tidal riding out the faults from next week, so they must have real big problems as we well know. Maybe Sue will be with them?
I got a couple of crappy pictures of 737 at Margam. Silly buggers allowed the shunter to be off loaded the wrong way round with the cab facing Cardiff. Maybe they'll turn it on the Landore triangle or Tondu.
Re: Tidal Update
Thats the trouble with some forum, you get some saddos alone with their key board spouting out ballcocks without checking facts and running people down that just want to share the enjoyment of a hobby.
This forum is a very good one that is worth being a member, better than some sites we have all visited in the past. You know the ones.

Catman will be out of storage in two weeks time after various defects were found. It seems that the remote faults on the Gronks had spread to him.

Re: Tidal Update
With Billy Basher still on his death bed, 08752 Lenny suffered a sheared Traction Motor Gear and was despatched to Toton Depot a few days ago.

Silly buggers didn't consider the possibility that Wiilie Bummer could be the Gronk Guru. Even with all the hints about the Ketton gronk, they didn't realise he was talking about 08567.
Re: Tidal Update
I hear that Mr Bumsen will be out of storage this month and will be at Tidal with a large hammer to bash the gronks into shape.
According to WNXX , Mr Bumsen is in storage awaiting material. And is in the FUXXED pool till later this month.

Willie Bummer has blown his cover.
You're assuming that their will some gronks at Tidal to beat with a hammer?
Secondly, you're anticipating that a Toytown fitter is going to release you from the FUXXED pool?
I'll be glad to see you back in action, I've missed the daily banter with you and the news blackout.

More Toton shit on its way to Tidal.

Billy, can you gives us an update on Tuesday as to the status of the Tidal Gronks. Fantasy Gen Forum suggests another one will be with you on Tuesday.

Hi Martin, i notice you are from Swansea. I also live in Swansea. Clyne Court to be precise. Quick question regarding Tidal. Do the radio control shunters perform well, or are they prone to bracking down. I'm not up to speed with this, as i've only just started spotting again after a long spell out, and i'm trying to gather as much info as possible.
Also, I've not been registered for long on here, but on this thread, fantasy gen forum keeps coming up. What is this and is it any good, cause i do a google search and i can't seem to find anything. At the moment, i'm only on here and the wnxx site.

Hi Mike,
There have always been problems with the remotes, originally because of shifted cranks relating to drivers having no feel for their train and, more recently software problems and poorly turned out locos from Toton Depot, after both Canton and Margam Depots shut, not forgetting that south wales has no pit or covered facilities to undertake C exam work and repairs. Nowadays nearly all repair work is undertaken at Toton which incurrs a 200 mile road movement.
With respect to the Fantasy Gen Forum I used to be a member and provided quite detailed information regarding gronk movements in south wales. However, I resigned when the owner refused to put up a note on the forum requesting members to honour my 'no reposting' rule for my information, which was displayed in my signature, for all of my postings.
